This is the first post on my new blog! It's all very exciting, as I've been wanting to start a blog for quite some time now, and today I finally decided to take the plunge and get started. This is going to be a personal blog, where I post anything and everything I feel like, which may include book reviews, hauls, my opinions, extracts from my writings and more. I very much doubt I'll get many followers, but I'm not doing this with that in mind - I just love the idea of having my own space on the internet where I can post whatever I want.

You might be wondering why I chose the name 'Raindrops in the Ashes' for my blog - well, I haven't really got a valid reason, just that I thought up a few different ones and most of the rest were taken.

I'm not new to blogging by any means - I've been contributing to my friend's Stardoll blog, The Brunettes of Stardoll, for about eight months now, and before that we had another blog together. I follow tons of blogs on Blogger, mostly fashion-related but a few others.
