UK Fashion & Makeup Haul

February 27, 2015

Bonjour,

I feel like it hasn't been all that long since my last haul post, but funnily enough they tend to get the most views so I thought I may as well share! I was in the UK last week, and as usual I spent quite a lot of money on the usual clothes, shoes and this time also makeup. Here's what I got:

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation in 100 Ivory
Rimmel Scandaleyes Eyeliner
Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer in 010 Ivory
Rimmel Brow Pencil in Dark Brown

I'm really not an expert on makeup (not that I'm an expert on fashion either, ahah) and I'm still figuring out what products I like - I've only ever used a couple of foundations but the Rimmel Wake Me Up is by far my favourite, so I took the opportunity to stock up. While I was browsing the Rimmel section I also picked up a few more bits and bobs, including a new eyeliner - previously I'd been using one that cost £1.50 from Primark, basically as I'd never used a liquid felt liner before and I didn't want to spend a fortune on something I wasn't sure I was going to use. But I actually love wearing liquid liner now, so I figured it was time to invest in a decent brand! I've been using it for a week or so and I really like it so far, it's safe to say it's so much better than the Primark one. I also got a Match Perfection concealer, which I've also been using and I much prefer to the Wake Me Up ones Rimmel do.

Pink Grapefruit Body Scrub-gelée from The Body Shop
Watermelon Born Lippy from The Body Shop
Sunkissed Palette

Like everyone else, I absolutely love Born Lippies from The Body Shop so I was on a mission to get my hands on the watermelon one, as I hadn't been able to find it in Belgium. I also got this body scrub which smells absolutely delicious - I love the smell of grapefruit but I actually hate the taste, weirdly enough. Last on the makeup front I picked up this palette, which was really cheap (£3 or £4 I think) just to experiment really as I don't really do eyeshadow and I thought I'd give it a go sometime.

Cropped Jumper from Topshop, £7 (sale)

I absolutely love this jumper, there are no words. It's super warm and cosy and so simple, I adore it - especially as it was only £7 in the sale in Topshop, reduced from £34!

Checked Croptop from New Look, £9.99

Normally I love New Look, but whenever I go in there in England I can never find anything I like in the main 'adult' section - which is odd as it should have the same stock as the stores in Belgium. But what they do have in England is the '915 generation' section (for ages 9-15) which I always seem to find stuff I like in. Maybe that's telling me I dress too much like a 13-year-old, but I don't care as it's always significantly cheaper than the stuff in the main section!

Daisy Top from Primark, £4

I was trying to resist buying anything black, but I caved when it came to this simple tank top - it'll be great for summer with some shorts, methinks.

Flower Print Cami from Primark, £5

Voila, a splash of colour in my monochrome wardrobe! I really love the chain straps on this top, I just hope Primark quality doesn't mean they break on the first wash, haha.

Playsuit from New Look, £12.99

Again, from the 915 generation section. Although I have a couple of pairs of dungarees, I don't actually own any playsuits and I really liked this one for summer.

Pleated Skirt from Primark, £3 (sale)

Can we all just take a moment to appreciate pleated skirts? This one is seriously thick and wooly, which I'm pleased with because it'll be great for what's left of winter. I probably own about 5 other black skirts, but who's counting?

Skirt from Primark, £6

This skirt is one of my favourite buys - it's black and white (yes, I know), and the material is really swishy and gorgeous. A minor detail perhaps, but I really like that the waistband is black because it kind of gives the illusion of a belt.

Leggings from Primark, £8

And last but not least, how could I leave Primark without picking up some leggings? These ones are a lovely dark reddish purple, my favourite colour, and have a really subtle floral effect which I like.

And that's everything I got!
